Dr. James H. Eberwine
Elmer Holmes Bobst Professor of Pharmacology
University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Eberwine’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s from Yale University, followed by a Master’s and PhD from Columbia University.
From these esteemed foundations, he has become a world leader in single cell biology, pioneering concepts such as the “expression profile” and developing foundational tools including aRNA amplification. His distinguished achievements include:
- Membership in the National Academy of Medicine and the National Academy of Inventors
- Authoring over 200 scientific publications
- Holding more than 180 patent applications
- Receiving the NIH Director’s Pioneer Award twice
