Winners will also receive a certificate, digital badge, an opportunity to be featured in a JoVE case study, recognition across JoVE channels and at relevant conferences, and an invitation to speak at a JoVE webinar.

What We're Looking For

Preference will be given to applications demonstrating: 

  • Strong realized impact in the field of research and on society
  • Technical excellence and methodological rigor
  • Innovative use of video for training, communications, etc.
  • Strong evidence of increased productivity, better reproducibility within/across research groups, more visibility, more research funding, or saving time and resources.

What You'll Need To Apply

  • A short biography of the applicant or library team
  • A written impact story (up to 2 pages, maximum of 1 figure, 1 table, and 1 photo)
  • A short 1-minute video highlighting the initiative and its impact (Optional)
  • Applicants must be currently employed at an academic institution or a corporate, government, or hospital entity.

Who should apply:
Scientists, engineers, and clinicians who have published a video article in JoVE, as well as Guest Editors who have organized Topical Collections of video articles in JoVE.

Award Committee

Submissions will be reviewed by an expert committee selected from JoVE's Editorial Board and previous award winners. The review process is designed to give each application careful consideration from scientists with expertise in the relevant field of research.
